Usage angry. In reference to a thing, angry at and angry about are used: »

I was angry at his slipshod work. Do you ever get angry about the cheating you see?

In reference to a person, angry with is general: »

He was angry with his son.

Formal English uses angry at or angry with, making the following distinctions: when the angry feeling is being stressed, at is used; when the stress is on the directing of that anger upon a person, with is used: »

We were angry at the boys for their tardiness. I was so angry with John that he drew back in fear.
